Vulcan Society FDNY 9/11 Memorial

Yesterday, I had the solemn honor of visiting the 9/11 Memorial at Quincy Street Community Garden right here in our district to pay tribute to the FDNY firefighters who bravely sacrificed their lives.

The Vulcan Society invited us and as we remember these brave souls, their heroism continues to inspire us, reminding us of the unyielding spirit of our community. I am so thankful for the members of the Vulcan society who continuously put their lives in harm way for the sacrifice of keeping others safe.

On 9/11 many of them did not return home. May we continue the legacy of those who sacrificed their lives as we carry their spirit with us, in our daily lives, in our actions, and in our words.

Let us honor them by living lives of service, by reaching out to our neighbors in times of need, and by building a world that is safer, kinder, and more just.

May we NEVER FORGET.
