The 54th Annual African American Day Parade

Yesterday, myself and the other members of The New York Black Legislative Taskforce had the honor of walking with th in the 54th Annual African American Day Parade, a wonderful celebration rooted in a rich history dating back to 1968.

It was a profound honor to walk together as honorary guests and celebrate our legacy and culture and the strides taken in business, education, and government to advance Black lives. The NYSBLT dedicates its efforts to advancing legislation and securing financial resources for the progress and protection of Black People. The pictures in this gallery are just a glimpse of the unity and joy we felt yesterday celebrating our beautiful heritage.

This parade, blossomed from a local event to a national phenomenon, a testament to the vision of founders Livingston Wingate and Conrad Peters. It was a joy to witness this year's theme come to life, a theme grounded in one of the AADP's core focus areas that have guided the community for over 50 years.

I went and represented the Vibrant 56th Assembly District of Bedstuy and Crown Heights. A very special thanks to African American Day Parade, Inc. for having us.

Be sure to mark your calendar to take part in the celebration next year!
